Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation Mr. K.D. Lalkantha participated in a special discussion regarding the currently operational ‘Bim Saviya’ program today (24th ) at the Ministry of Agriculture.
The GCF Knuckles Project (Dumbara Green Empowerment Project) is implemented under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation. The primary objective of the GCF Knuckles Project is to adapt the agricultural, rural and plantation communities in the Knuckles mountain region to climate change.
A special discussion was held recently at the Ministry of Agriculture between the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, K.D. Lalkantha and UN Coordinator Marc-André Franche along with several representatives, regarding land distribution in the North and future projects.

The remaining work of the Uma Oya multi-purpose development project, which was scheduled to be finished in 2021, commenced today near the Wellawaya, Buduruwagala tank under the leadership of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation K.D. Lalkantha.
