
In line with the government's policy statement, “A Thriving Nation - A Beautiful Life” under the 'Wari Mahima Ape Urumaya’ program, the construction of new sluice gates, spillways, and tank bund of Aluthdivulwewa at Galenbidunuwewa was completed and the ceremony to hand it over to the public was held yesterday (20th) at the Aluthdivulwewa tank premises under the patronage of Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, Hon. K.D. Lalkantha.
Aluthdivulwewa tank is located in the Galenbidunuwewa Divisional Secretary’s Division of the Huruluwewa Regional Irrigation Engineer's Division in the Anuradhapura District of the North Central Province. The estimated cost for this is Rs. 248 million. With the rehabilitation of Aluthdivulwawa tank, 2,327 acres can be cultivated, and the number of beneficiary families is 1,135.
