Empower the innovators to be successful entrepreneurs Rs. 5.00 Mn (GOSL)

The project to empower innovators to be successful entrepreneurs has been implemented under the Ministry of agriculture in 2021. This programme is initiated as a pilot project. Main targets of this project are uplifting local innovators by creating a local market to the innovator and to find the new solutions for the problems in agricultural sector. By this, project expects to provide benefits to both innovators and farmers. This project is carried out with the support of different parties such as Departments of Agriculture, National institute of Post-Harvest Management, Universities and foreign funded projects, National Engineering Research and Development Centre and Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies. Project activities are implemented on annual basis.

Project is implemented under below five fields.

•Fertilizer and Agrochemicals using locally available natural ingredients

•Local agricultural machinery to reduce the cost of production in agricultural farms

•Minimization of wildlife damage to agriculture throughout Sri Lanka

•Minimize Post harvest losses and value addition to local agricultural products

•Advance Technology in agriculture sector (Nanotechnology, Robotics, Information Technology and other Agriculture related High Technology)
