Under the guidance of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation K.D. Lalkantha, one step in starting sales outlets across the island was held today (11th ) at Maradana Railway Station under the patronage of the Minister. The Minister expressed his appreciation regarding the opening of a National Livestock Development Board sales outlet at Maradana Railway Station.
The Minister further expressed his views on this occasion.
“This sales outlet has been opened in a manner that preserves the uniqueness of Maradana Railway Station. I think guidance from the railway station was also received for that purpose. The railway station has become more beautiful with the opening of the sales outlet. Maradana Railway Station is a place where a large number of public servants travel in the morning and evening. Considering public servants, they can be defined as people in a certain middle-class status. At least they have some kind of middle-class mentality. They need quality products. They need to educate their children. The middle class has a spiritual mindset of progress, like needing a good vehicle. They dream of a beautiful life. The sales outlet has been designed in a way that suits public servants. There is also a greater tendency among the middle class to use liquid milk. I think we have no doubt about the quality of products of the National Livestock Development Board in the market. I don't believe there is reliable, quality liquid milk available, whether in supermarkets or similar shops, that is as good as that liquid milk.”
Officials from the National Livestock Development Board and the officials from Maradana Railway Station participated in this occasion.
