A special discussion was held recently at the Ministry of Agriculture regarding irrigation projects currently operating under World Bank assistance and those planned to be implemented in the future.
For the revival of irrigation systems, the inaugural ceremony of 'Vari Mahima Ape Urumaya' Gal Oya Irrigation Rehabilitation Project was held today (05th ) at Naikadu on the southern bank of Gal Oya, under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation K.D. Lalkantha.
Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation K.D. Lalkantha recently inspected the government grain warehouse located in Buttala. During this visit, the Minister examined the grain stocks in the warehouse and also engaged in a friendly discussion with its staff.
