The Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera, advised the Coconut Cultivation Board to provide a hotline number where the farmers can inform directly about any problems related to coconut cultivation including white fly disease.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries has taken measures to implement a rubber cultivation master plan in the next few years with the aim of increasing the annual natural rubber production in Sri Lanka by 60 percent.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries decided today (29) to increase the subsidy of tea fertilizer from Rs.2000 to Rs. 4000.
Taking in to account the shortage of Keeri samba in the country, Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries Mr.Mahinda Amaraweera advised the Paddy Marketing Board (PMB) to implement a Keeri samba cultivation project for seed paddy in the Hambantota district.
