It has been decided to send all employees indulged in fuel fraud of Milco Factory in Ambewela on compulsory leave.

Milco chairmen Mr. Renuka Perera informed this morning the Honerable Minister of Agriculture, wildlife and forest resources conservation of large-scale diesel fraud in Ambewela Factory of Milco Company.

 

The Chairmen said that information available so far reveal that this fraud has been going on within the institution since 2021. Accordingly, over 45000 liters of diesel have been sold to private filling stations.

“Although and extensive investigation is continuing on the alleged fraud, steps have been taken to send all employees, to whom charge sheets issued, on compulsory leave” Mr. Renuka Perera stated.

The Minister instructed the Milco chairmen to find out through extensive investigation whether the fraud would be continuing during this year too.
