The Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage instructed that all employees of the Janatha Estate Development Board, including its workers who do not yet have land ownership, should be legally provided with lands within three months.
A discussion in this regard was held between the administration of the Janatha Estate Development Board and the Minister at the Ministry of Agriculture. The Minister stressed to the relevant officials that a 07 perch land should be given to every employee to prepare houses immediately and that it should be carried out soon. The Minister pointed out that the government had only promised to provide land to these workers for decades and that the decision was made to make it a reality. The Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage highlighted to the officials who had participated in the discussion that justice should be provided to these employees who are contributing to earn income for the country and therefore without wasting time on various circulars and regulations, lands should be given to them efficiently.
The Minister also informed the relevant administration that the provident funds of all employees of the Janatha Estate Development Board should be paid before the end of next year. The Minister requested that such quick solutions to several major problems as well as other problems faced by the employees be resolved one by one immediately. Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage emphasized to the officials who participated in the discussion that it is the responsibility of the administration to solve the problems of the employees in a practical and expeditious manner so that the Janatha Estate Development Board can successfully carry out the production work required for the national income of the country and thereby create a successful progress towards the desired goals.
